Gravel Screening Trial

Project Brief

A requirement for gravel supply to light vehicle access road construction.

Requirements

• Budget of A$470k to complete planning, screening plant mobilisation, safety certification, site establishment and screening operations
• Select trial location subject to cultural heritage and permit conditions
• Complete soil and geo-technical tests to conform to material specifications
• Report the trial results and cost benefits to Mine Management in order to make an informed decision on continuation of screening operations

Deliverables

• 50,000 tonne of "feed" material to SCS Triple Desk screening plant
• Screened 10,000 tonne of Main Roads specification (or similar) gravel
• Screened >150mm environmental rock
• Screened 50mm to 150mm drainage gabion rock
• Screened <6mm bedding materials

Business Outcomes

• Successfully produced gravel conforming to Main Roads specification
• Cost effective when compared to quarry import gravel products
• subsequent trial locations available to expand production
• Multiple products consumed onsite for various applications
