Mine Environmental/Staging Dam

Project Brief

Staging Dam required to pump water 26KM's at 300 Litres per second as part of the mine water management strategy.

Requirements

• Environment requirements necessitate the need to capture and divert rain water away from the mine pits to a proposed offsite location
• Mud was dug out and dam was split into two to allow a clean water side to divert rain water and dirty water side to act as a staging dam
• Budget - A$350k

Deliverables

• staging Dam constructed to transfer water along mine site
• Clean water dam with enhanced drainage, capturing all run-off from rehabilitation area

Business Outcomes

• Staging Dam to allow transfer of mine water
• Opportunity for future water fill point
